Mark, coming from a farming and agriculture background, recognized the inherent challenge of working with groundwater quality in WA. However, upon entering the irrigation sector, he quickly realized that the persistent iron fouling of sprinklers and the prevalent iron stain coating buildings and paths throughout the state required immediate attention.
The soluble iron concentrations in West Australian land and water can range from 0 to over 50 ppm (parts per million), rendering conventional iron filtration systems unreliable and ineffective.
To address this issue, we have developed a tailor-made West Australian Iron Filtration System specifically designed for the region’s unique conditions. Our Elliotts Filtration Systems are meticulously crafted to suit the requirements of each site, with manufacturing taking place at our dedicated Filtration division warehouse located in Greenwood, WA.
Over the years, the demand for Mark’s iron filtration systems has significantly increased, driven by the desire to enhance the aesthetics of buildings, paths, and landscapes and the need to eliminate iron fouling in irrigation system pipework. Mark has revolutionized the Perth Bore Water Iron Filtration field with his innovative system that effectively filters iron from raw bore water through a two-part process, eliminating the need for chemicals and media replacement over time.
The first step is oxidation, where the air is injected into the raw bore water via an aeration pump and venturi. This initiates the iron oxidation process, preparing it for the next stage.
